Speed is your nindō.
Using your Grappling Hooks, propel yourself through variant levels and challenges. Find the best trajectories and improve your times in order to beat your own ghost.

MY ROLE AS PROGRAMER

Movements

  • Camera movements

  • Player movements (boost, brake, grappling hooks movements, supersonic state)

  • Player death

User Interface

  • Timer

  • UI at the end of the race

  • High score system = timer save + ghost save

  • Retry bouton when the player dies

  • Modify the cursor color depending according to whether we can send a hook or not

Sound design

  • Research and implementation of sound design

  • Adapt the sounds according to the player speed

Art

  • Research and implementation of the player and ghost shader

  • Animate the player shader according to his movements

  • Particles system for the speed sensation

  • Changing the field of view during the reel in, according to the speed of the player

  • Set up the ghost trail

  • Set up the fog

  • Create a material to permit to a shape to be scale without deforming its texture

Other features

  • Supersonic wall (Possible to pass through only with supersonic speed)

  • Supersonic zone (accelerate the player to the supersonic speed)

  • Give to the shapes the state of “grappable / no grappable”.

  • End zone

I also highly participated to the conception of the game design, created the level 4 (the one shown in the video) and I implemented the art in order to set up a minimalist atmosphere.
